i’m sick of buying ultra-healthy, low-calorie food on my weekly grocery runs and ending up ordering greasy, bloaty, sickeningly bad-for-you food i don’t even want, so i’m trying a new thing: this week, i’ll be cooking five of my dream recipes and just sort of letting the chips (hehe, chips) fall where they may.
this method of cooking is inspired by an age-old story in my family about when my mom went home w her college roommate for some holiday and it came out that she literally only ate junk food. instead of getting mad, the roommate’s mom took it upon herself to make HOMEMADE TWINKIES and my mom never forgot it. claire saffitz is shaking!!!!!!!
anyway, the recipes are:
BA Lamb Meatballs with Raisin Pesto
BA Grilled Potato Salad
BA Spiced Lamb and Dill Yogurt Pasta
BA Spicy-Sweet Sambal Pork Noodles
Alison Roman Smashed Cucumbers with Sizzled Turmeric and Garlic
i have no idea if this is the start of me Eating Intuitively and Gorgeously Al Fresco Like Julia Roberts in “Eat Pray Love,” or if i’ll be back going insane on some domino’s in like a week, but i’m unusually optimistic. of course, this all depends on what’s available at the shoprite in town, but i’m sure i can pull at least a few of these off.
im so excited for the lamb and dill pasta in particular! dill will also be found in the vegetables (i know alison is overdone but let me thrive) and the grilled potato salad. oprah voice: I. LOVE. DILL.
sorry for this boring food update but sometimes im boring, and almost always im thinking about food.
