when the skies darken and it officially becomes pitch-black outside at 5pm, why don’t you……..make a blender drink and listen to the “yacht rock” playlist on spotify?
its literally SO fun. no, like, so fun. fun enough that a person who has barely left her house in the last week (hello) actually managed to have her mood lifted by the mere SOUND of the blender whirring over hall & oates.
when i drink my blender drink, i don’t feel bad for having spent the day in my pajamas with unbrushed hair. instead i feel like i’m at that sleepover they have in an early season of “friends” where they get george stephanopoulos’s pizza, and drop a cushion off the fire escape.
here is my recipe for Emma’s Perfect Blender Paloma:
2 cups grapefruit juice
2 shots tequila (or more, but i prefer just a SOUPCON so i won’t be drunk for therapy)
1 can lacroix (flavor choice at your discretion, but something fruity is preferred)
handful of ice
blend it all up: this makes 4 small-ish cups or 3 big guys, and tonight my roommates and i divvied up the 3 big guys. i’m drinking mine rn while i listen to “the joker” by steve miller band, and it is refreshing as shit. when i sip that juice and tequila under the pink neon glow of my “girls girls girls” sign, i feel like i am in that most hallowed and sacred of places…………….a BAR.
anyway, this was all just to say that you should make a blender drink—specifically, Emma’s Perfect Blender Paloma—and tell me how it is.

counterpoint: drunk for therapy: "bad" idea < great personal brand
